It is made up of short stories of my own travels and adventures over the years so everything on this page is very personal. These are my adventures, my observations, my ideas, my experiences and my opinions so I make no apologies for offending anyone’s sensibilities.
Also, I will say it now and try not to repeat it – I believe that everyone should travel – if not around the globe, then at least try to see their own country. There is so much to experience, to hear, to see, to smell, to taste, to feel and to love that I think people miss out on so much by not seeing the world and other cultures. Sometimes we are blinkered and get so caught up in our own ‘stuff’ and our view is so limited that if we could only see how other people live and interact it may have an impact on how relate to each other.

While I know that each country has its own problems, in this blog I am only interested in conveying the good and the positive. I would like to think that my world view has changed over the years and that travelling has had a favourable influence on how I live my life. I also prefer to be called a traveller, rather than a tourist. There is a loose time-line on this blog but I may jump around and change the order of places that I have been to so that I can follow my train of thought.
When travelling abroad it is always a good idea to plan ahead for the season, or at least to check the weather. For example, it is not always wise to visit a place in the height of summer or winter unless you like extreme temperatures or you have a specific reason to do so. That is one of the many reasons why the prices of air tickets and other modes of travel have seasonal price fluctuations.
